1186 -- Archbishop Comyn begins work on the Romanesque cathedral

1358 -- Archbishop St. Paul builds the Long Choir

1487 -- Coronation of Edward VI

1551 -- English Prayer book used

1562 -- South nave wall and roof collapsed

1608 -- Law Courts moved to the cloister buildlings

1871 -- Seven year restoration

1980 -- two year major restoration of roof
