O' Mahoney Family
a

the lone standing bit of stone at Dunbeacon

The only thing remaining of this O'Mahoney castle is a three-storey fragment of one wall. The castle was built c 1460, and was probably built on the site of a much-older castle or fort. It was burnt by the family in the 1580s and was captured by the English in 1602.
