The rule during this period still seemd to be centered in Thebes, and in many cases, Mentuemhet was actually the pharaoh in Thebes, ruling along with the position of "Divine Adorer of Amen" which was helpd by Amendardis I, Amenardis II, Shepenopet II, and Nitocris -- a series of women raised to a position that must have been equal to the great High Priests of Amun in Thebes.
