A strange dynasty -- with only one king, Amyrtaios -- between the strong Persian rule of the 27th Dynasty and the Egyptian pharaohs of the 29th. it lasted only about five years.
Amyrtaios is assumed to have reunified Egypt under one pharaoh, driving the Persian kings out of the Delta region. He was forcibly removed from office and imprisoned by Nepherites, the first king of the 29th Dynasty.
