Temple of Hathor at Dendara

The main pylon has six enormous Hathor-headed columns and is covered in reliefs of the Roman emperors. The hypostyle hall has more Hathor-headed columns support a magnificent astrological ceiling. The colors here are still brilliant.

Further into the temple is the Hall of Apperances, which shows how Hathor emerged and shows her voyage to Edfu and the temple there. THere are small rooms around thsi one covered in inscriptions, that were used to prepare the oils and salves used in the temple rituals. All the rooms are lit through skylights in the stone roof slabs. THe light inside is dim but clear.
