restoration work on the inner curtain wall

Nearly every castle we visited had scaffolding or yellow tape up somewhere - the work to keep these ruins standing (and safe) is ongoing. Reinforcing walls, stablilizing falling stones, blocking windows or doors too dangerous to pass, sealing cracks in walls or replacing slate tiles - something is always going on. I find the restoration work fascinating.
