Auldhame Castle
There apparently is a way to get to the castle on the clifftop, but we didn't see any obvious path. The access to the beach is limited -- Seacliff is a pretty beach, but is is privately owned and a small fee is required to drive down. We maneuvered our way down to the parking area and then hiked out to look for the castle. We missed even seeing it the first time, standing at hte bottom of the hill ad looking around, "I has to be here! The GPS says right here!" Finally we looked up.
the castle is barely visible from the hillside
Perhaps it is accessible from the other side, but it looks like it's probably well-hidden.I, of course, was standing ankle-deep in mud and trying to avoid stepping in horse manure, so I might be a bit biased.
